DCH драйверы — что это такое? (Intel/NVIDIA)
DCH драйвера — это тип драйверов, которые не содержат панель управления и предназначенные для работы на универсальных платформах Windows (UWP), которые основаны на редакциях Windows 10.
Но не стоит волноваться — панель управления можно будет скачать из Microsoft Store, как понимаю, она просто будет идти в виде отдельного приложения, но сперва нужно поставить основные драйвера (DCH).
Еще больше не стоит волноваться — если например выполните чистую установку Windows, то она сама поставит и DCH драйвер и сама поставит отдельно панель управления.
Что происходит? Дело в том, что Microsoft, начиная с обновления Windows от 10 октября 2018 года начинает переход на новую архитектуру универсальных драйверов. Именно поэтому, такие производители как NVIDIA, Intel, и скорее всего AMD — вынуждены немного изменить свои драйвера, выпустив версию DCH.
То есть все похоже на то, что эта версия содержит только драйвера, без лишнего, без панели управления, без настроек. Это касается и дров на встроенное видеоядро Intel HD, как понимаю там панели не будет, и даже если нажать правой кнопкой по рабочему столу — то не будет такого пункта:
Я кстати этот пункт всегда удалял через реестр, потому что он мне просто не нужен был, мешал.
На сайте NVIDIA сказано — что разницы в плане функциональности нет, просто нет панели управления, установщик весит меньше, ставятся дрова быстрее. Разница только в способе установки, но это уже внутренние изменения, которые вряд ли нам интересны.
Важно! После установки DCH драйверов некоторые эффекты могут не работать, чтобы они работали — нужно скачать панель управления из Microsoft Store. Все это меня наводит на мысль, что пока еще можно пользоваться драйверами не DCH — то нужно пользоваться, потому что-то мне кажется что версия DCH может принести некоторые проблемы.
Если у вас видеокарта NVIDIA, то вы можете посмотреть какие дрова у вас стоят. Нужно открыть Панель управления NVIDIA, потом выбрать Информация о системе в левом нижнем углу, там найти пункт Тип драйвера и там будет указано — у вас стандартный или DCH:

Почему так? Скорее всего приложение NVIDIA Control Panel не было обновлено для последней версии из Microsoft Store — поэтому идем в магазин и пишем там название приложение в правом верхнем углу, в поиске, и устанавливаем панель:
Важно понимать, что эта панель, которая из магазина — она нужна только при условии, что вы используете дрова DCH.

Мое мнение, что лучше выбирать стандартные.
PS: все это по большей части относится к дровам NVIDIA, а вот у Intel написано, что если стоят дрова DCH, то откатиться на старые дрова — нельзя. Или можно, но это сложный процесс, и они не рекомендуют этого делать либо в крайнем случае написать им и они оценят возможность.. в общем думаю не смотря на то, что они не советуют, дрова наверно все равно можно поставить.
В любом случае, повторюсь, что мое мнение — пока возможно, нужно использовать обычные драйвера, не DCH. Особенно если это касается видеокарт NVIDIA, AMD, потому что никто не гарантирует стабильную безглючную работу панели управления из Microsoft Store. Но это только мое мнение.

«Standard» packages are those that do not require the DCH driver components.
«DCH» (Declarative, Componentized, Hardware Support Apps) refers to new packages preinstalled by OEMS implementing the Microsoft Universal Driver paradigm.
DCH drivers cannot be installed over a standard system, and Standard drivers cannot be installed over a DCH system.
To confirm the type of system you have, locate Driver Type under the System Information menu in the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Selecting Driver Verifier Options
Verifier Command Line
To activate or deactivate individual options, specify the desired options after the /flags parameter.
(Windows 2000 only) To control the level of I/O Verification, use the /iolevel parameter.
(Windows Server 2003 and later) To activate Disk Integrity Checking, use the /disk parameter.
To deactivate all options and clear the verified driver list, use the /reset parameter.
Driver Verifier Manager (Windows 2000)
To activate or deactivate individual options, select the Settings tab. Driver Verifier’s options are listed in the Verification Type section (Special Pool, Force IRQL Checking, Low Resources Simulation, Pool Tracking, and I/O Verification). Check whichever options you wish to activate, and clear those you wish to deactivate. If I/O Verification is selected, you can choose between Level 1 and Level 2 (choosing Level 2 enables both Level 1 and Level 2 tests). To choose which drivers you wish to verify, see Selecting Drivers to be Verified.
To deactivate all options and clear the verified driver list, select the Settings tab. Press the Reset All button. Then press Apply.
Driver Verifier Manager (Windows XP and later)
In Windows XP and later, Driver Verifier Manager can select options in a variety of ways:
To choose from predefined sets of options, select the Create custom settings task and press Next. On the next screen, select Enable predefined settings and select any of the check boxes. Selecting the Standard settings enables Special Pool, Force IRQL Checking, Pool Tracking, I/O Verification, DMA Verification, and Deadlock Detection. Starting with Windows Vista, selecting the standard options also enables Security Checks and Miscellaneous Checks. Starting with WindowsВ 8, selecting the standard options also enables DDI compliance checking. Selecting the Low resource simulation check box enables Low Resources Simulation. Selecting the Enhanced I/O Verification check box enables Enhanced I/O Verification. In Windows Server 2003 and later, selecting the Disk integrity checking check box enables Disk Integrity Checking.
To choose the standard options, select the Create standard settings task. The standard settings include Special Pool, Force IRQL Checking, Pool Tracking, I/O Verification, DMA Verification, and Deadlock Detection. Starting with Windows Vista, the standard settings also include Security Checks and Miscellaneous Checks. Starting with WindowsВ 8, the standard settings also include DDI compliance checking.
Note that starting with Windows Vista, if the Low resources simulation check box is selected using either of the first two methods listed above, the next screen is the screen for setting the Probability, Applications, Pool Tags, and System Start Delay Time options for Low Resources Simulation. Set these options to the desired values.
When you have completed one of these steps, press Next. See Selecting Drivers to be Verified for the next step.
To deactivate all options and clear the verified driver list, select the Delete existing settings task. Then press Finish.
Reboot Required
Beginning in Windows Vista, you can activate and deactivate all options without restarting («rebooting») the computer except for DDI compliance checking, Power Framework Delay Fuzzing, Storport Verification, or SCSI Verification. For details, see Using Volatile Settings.
On systems prior to Windows Vista, you can activate and deactivate certain options without rebooting, but only after you have enabled Driver Verifier on at least one driver then rebooted the computer. For details, see Using Volatile Settings.
Overview of the Driver Selection Process
Windows represents a driver as a driver node, which includes all the software support for a device, such as any services, device-specific co-installers, and registry entries. The services for a device include a function driver and any upper-level and lower-level device filter drivers.
Some devices require a vendor-supplied driver that is designed specifically for that device or one that is designed to support a family of devices. However, other devices can be driven by a system-supplied driver that supports all the devices of a given device setup class. Windows selects the driver that most closely matches the device. If Windows does not find such a driver, it selects from increasingly more general drivers.
How Windows Searches for Drivers
Windows searches in specific locations for drivers that match a device. A driver matches a device if the following are true:
One of the Plug and Play (PnP) device identification strings that is reported by the bus driver for the device matches a device identification string in an INF Models section entry of the driver’s INF file.
If the matching device identification string in an INF Models section entry specifies a TargetOSVersion decoration, the decoration matches the operating system version on which the device is to be installed.

How Windows Ranks Drivers
Windows creates a list of all the matching drivers and assigns each driver a rank. Windows represents each driver’s rank with an integer value that is greater than or equal to zero.

Starting with Windows Vista, Windows also ranks drivers based on whether the driver is digitally signed. Windows ranks drivers based on a digital signature as follows:
If the AllSignersEqual Group Policy is disabled, Windows ranks drivers that are signed with a Microsoft signature higher than drivers that are signed with an Authenticode signature. This ranking occurs even if a driver that is signed with an Authenticode signature is, in all other aspects, a better match for a device.
If the AllSignersEqual Group Policy is enabled, Windows ranks all digitally signed drivers equally.
NoteВ В Starting with Windows 7, the AllSignersEqual Group Policy is enabled by default. In Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, the AllSignersEqual Group Policy is disabled by default. IT departments can override the default ranking behavior by enabling or disabling the AllSignersEqual Group Policy.
Signatures from a Windows signing authority include the following:

How Windows Selects Drivers
Windows selects the driver with the lowest rank value as the best match for the device.
However, if there are multiple equally ranked drivers that are a best match for a device, Windows uses the driver’s date and version to select a driver. The driver’s date and version are specified by the INF DriverVer directive that is contained in the driver’s INF file.
Windows uses the following criteria to select a driver for a device:
Windows selects the driver that has the lowest rank value as the best match for the device.
For drivers that have equal rank, Windows selects the driver that has the most recent date.
For the drivers that have equal rank and date, Windows selects the driver that has the highest version.
For drivers that have equal rank, date, and version, Windows can select any driver.
