Hello. I’ve a Win10 ultimate and on my NTB windows install driver for SlimtypeDVD A DS8A5SH, but this driver not function and in driver ID is SCSI\________________________

scans your system and automatically reinstalls your device.
If the issue still persists then, I would recommend you to download and install the latest DVD/CD-ROM driver in compatibility mode from the manufacturer and check if it works.

I suggest you to go to the manufacturer’s website of your graphic card and check for any updated drivers available there. If so, try to install them and check if it fix the issue.
If no updated drivers available then try installing the available drivers in compatibility mode.

I have responded here because the solutions suggested on this page didn’t work for me, and it took me a long while to find a fix. So I hope this may help others.
I experienced problems in uprgrading my ASUS laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The DVD drive did not show in Explorer and in Device Manager it had a question mark registered against the SlimtypeDVD A DS8A5SH. The laptop has an AMD processor and I discovered that Windows 10 loads a Standard SATA controller driver under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers instead of the correct AMD SATA controller. Trying to «update the driver» or running the AMD Crimson Edition software does not work.
The way to fix this is to download the the latest AMD Chipset Drivers ( http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows+10+-+64 ), which normally get placed in a folder «AMD» in the C: drive when you open the download package. Then go into Device Manager and update the SATA controller driver manually, select «Browse my computer» and direct the search to the Drivers folder (in my case AMD/Radeaon Crimson. /Packages/Drivers). Windows should then identify and load the right driver.
Incidentally this also fixes the correct drivers for other devices such as sound and laptop camera, which Windows 10 assigns Standard drivers.
