The application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way windows 10
This application has requested the runtime:
Узнаем, что означает ошибка this application has requested the runtime и как предотвратить ее появление…
Сообщение this application has requested the runtime означает, что программе требуется больше времени на выполнение задачи
Как удалить ПО или компонент с ошибкой this application has requested the runtime:
This application has requested the runtime
This application has requested the runtime
[FIX] This Application Has Requested The Runtime To Terminate It In An Unusual Way
Published: May 10, 2016 · 12:19 PM \\ Applies to: Troubleshooting, Windows 10
As we all know Windows operating systems (OS) are shipped with some pre-installed Visual C++ Redistributable Package(s). The latest OS i.e. Windows 10 is shipped with Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package. These packages are required to run the Desktop programs/apps created using Visual Studio, and more importantly when your machine doesn’t have Visual Studio installed.
Today, a strange this happened on my Windows 10 Pro system. While configuring some options in Settings app, I suddenly received this error message which is related to Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Here is the complete message:
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application’s support team for more information.
Here, clicking OK button doesn’t do anything, not even closing this error message. Also Settings app becomes unresponsive, on the other hand. As you can see in the above screenshot, the error message is only related to Settings app, which is an Universal App and baked into the OS. Hence, it is not possible uninstall this app and then re-install it. However, if you like, you can re-register all apps which will eventually re-register Settings app and see if it solves this issue. Here are the steps for it:
If re-registering didn’t solved this issue, you’ll then need to update or install latest Visual C++ Redistributable Package(s). Here is how:
FIX : This Application Has Requested The Runtime To Terminate It In An Unusual Way In Windows 10
1. Press + E to open File Explorer. In the left pane, click This PC. Now in the ribbon, click Uninstall or change a program.
2. Next, in the Uninstall or change a program screen, from the list of installed programs, look for Visual C++ Redistributable Package(s). Highlight them one-by-one and each time do a right click, select Uninstall. Close the window.
3. Use following links to download latest version of Visual C++ Redistributable Package(s) from Microsoft. Make sure you download an upgraded version as compared to the one you uninstalled above.
4. The download gives you an .exe file on which do a right click and select Run as administrator.
5. This will launch the setup and you’ve to accept license agreement first and then click Install.
After few seconds, you’ll get Setup successful message. Click Close and restart your machine.
After rebooting the machine, the error will no longer appear.
Let us know via your comments, if issue still persists!

This did not help me. I am getting this error when I right click on a file in Windows Explorer.
Removed 12 older redistributes and installed a later one. After rebooting the same error occurred when trying to open more than one windows explorer screen.
Worked for me.Thanks a lot.You’re the best.
^^ Glad we could help 😎
Unfortunetaly it did not help, I have the same problem as Teresa Holt stated earlier
I could´t find newer versions for Visual C++ 2005 – 2008 ( i have 5 2005 redistributable versions and 4 versions for 2008) so i didnt touch them.
the other versions 2010 – 2015, i did what the article instructed but no luck
i tried both SFC and DISM, but the problem persists
is there anything more a can do?

I just contacted Microsoft Answer Desk on a chat session trying to get help with this issue.
I was told that it was not a Windows 10 problem and that I should contact the manufacturer of the device. Unfortunately, the Tech person didn’t know which device, if any, was causing the problem.
Funny enough, after rebooting, the issue was gone. Now I can unplug the power cord or put the laptop to sleep without getting the error after resuming Windows.
To be honest, I know this doesn’t help, but I decided to reply to your post just to ask if you still keep getting the same error message.

I’ve got the same problem since upgrading to Windows 10 and no idea what is causing it. I get the message when I start the laptop up in the morning.
Not sure what to do and whether it would help uninstalling the printer or uninstalling the Visual pack and then find a new update for it.

I’m having the same problem on an HP laptop after I just installed Windows 10. There are several responses to older versions of Windows that show fixes, but none of those seem to work or be available on Windows 10. I do have an AMD chip, but cannot find and «AMD app» or CCC, which are both mentioned in the links to this problem on Windows 8.
Has anyone found a remedy to this annoyance?

OK. I found a solution for my problem. It goes as follows:
Start, then select Settings, then select System, then select Apps & Features.
Wait while the list is populated and then uninstall «AMD Catalyst Install Manager.»
Reboot, and the problem is gone.
This may work only for computers with AMD CPU chips.

i had this exact same issue when i would unplug my laptop after i first installed win8.1 and it happened again with my win10 install. i primarily use a macbook but i have an older eMachines E442-V133 laptop i like to screw around with and after i clean installed win8.1 letting it run using the default system drivers i noticed i would get that constant atibtmon error every time i unplugged it. but i found a fix for it
and what i did to fix the issue in win8.1 is the same as what i just did to fix it on my brand new clean win10 install
after my win10 install, windows update automatically downloaded a somewhat compatible driver for the vid card but it would not allow the full functionality and access to all options of the ATI control center.
so i uninstalled that driver
and downloaded the LEGACY vista/win7/win8.1 driver for my ATI MOBILITY RADEON 4250 (or 4xxx series) vid card and installed it on my now running windows 10 machine. i then opened up the ATI control center and to my delight full functionality and access to all options was now restored. so just like i did with win8.1 i UNCHECKED the enable vari-bright option listed under the POWER/POWER PLAY settings, clicked apply, rebooted for good measure and once the machine was up again i unplugged the power cable and no more atibitmon error message. hope this helps.
Upon starting Windows 7 a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error Box appears- «This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.»
Upon clicking OK, Windows explorer restarts and then displays the error box again.
This first occurred about a month after installing Win 7 Pro, then an unexpected shut down caused the problem to disappear, but now it’s back.
My installation disc doesn’t seem to have a fix option and I haven’t recently installed a new program.

I would like to know some information about the issue so that we could help you better.
Does your computer boot to the desktop?
This issue may occur if Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package is not installed on the computer.
If your computer boots to the desktop, I would suggest you to try following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:
Download and install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package using the following links:
If it does not help, then use method 2.
Method 2:
Perform clean boot and check the issue.
Refer this article:
How to perform a clean boot in Windows
http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps from section “How to reset the computer to start as usual after clean boot troubleshooting” to reset the computer to start as usual.
Clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program.

Rather than assuming the problem is in the VC++ run time as other posters are addressing, I would try to determine what program or process is causing this error. Firstly, see if there are any messages in Event Viewer that might shed light on it. If that doesn’t help, try turning off startup items (setting selective startup) from msconfig and see if that stops the error. If so, work through the startup items to identify the culprit. If still occurring, try disabling non MS services (again via msconfig) and see if that helps.
It wouldn’t hurt to also check thoroughly for malware.

I would suggest you to try following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:
Run Microsoft safety scanner to check for viruses and malwares.
Refer:
Microsoft safety scanner
http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.
If it does not help, then use method 2.
Method 2:
Disable antivirus software and check.
Refer:
Disable antivirus software
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Disable-antivirus-software
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn’t disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you’re done. If you’re connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
CCleaner
DirectX
Способ №3. Visual C++
