Did you get the driver from your from PC or motherboard maker’s Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker?
Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.
Updating drivers from the Device Manager or Windows Update is rarely enough. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is keep the latest manufacturer’s drivers installed from their Support Downloads web page.
If so then you can go ahead.

I keep getting a Windows Security window that comes up saying «Windows can’t verify the publisher of this driver software.» with an option to Not install or allow it to install. There are no helpful details telling me what driver is causing this error.
The computer is a brand new Dell Precision 7530 with Office 365 and Solidworks installed. The window usually comes up within the first 3-5 mins of starting the computer. I’ve looked through the event viewer but can’t figure out what is causing the pop-up.
Does any one know how to investigate this? I don’t want to prevent a driver from running if it is important for the computer or some other software to function.

Technically, on the Windows Security pop-up you’re getting, there should be a small arrow in the bottom left corner, with «See details». When clicked on, it’ll show you additional details about the warning such as the driver’s name, its publisher, etc. Can you check if you have that option and if so, click on it? It should give you the information you’re looking for.
Thank you for replying. Yes I clicked on the «See details» but unfortunately there were not any helpful details.
Do you know of any other way to figure out what driver or other software is causing the pop-up?
Can you provide a screenshot of what you see when you click on the «See details» option? Ideally, a screenshot of the whole pop-up message.
Also, have you tried to look in the Event Viewer (most likely under the System logs) if you can see any event related to that warning? It might hold more information.
I can’t seem to upload pictures technet is saying I need to verify my account in order to upload pictures. However I already verified my account. I’m trying to figure out whats wrong and I’ll upload the picture.
I tried looking through the event viewer but couldn’t find any useful alerts related to a windows security alert. The closest thing I found is a Event 10016, DistributedCOM error below:

i have used the site, add-on and the software many times before with no problems. i trust the web site and
have it in Trusted Sites. i even lowered the security level to allow Unsigned Active controls to be downloaded.
i don’t understand why i was able to download before, but not able to now.
any solutions to my problem would be appreciated.

a) Did you make any changes to the computer recently link installing/uninstalling/upgrade?
Try the below methods which may resolve your issue.
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click on Tools and select Internet Options.
3. Under Privacy tab click on settings button.
4. Now enter the website address in the box labeled Address of the website to allow:
5. Click on Add button.
6. Close the Pop-up blocked settings and Internet Options windows.
Now try visiting the website again.
If you still have the problem then follow the below steps and let me know if it works.
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click on Tools and select Internet Options.
3. Under Advanced tab scroll all the way to the bottom to the Security section.
4. Check the third box down “Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid”.
5. Click OK to close out the dialog box

Just wondering if anyone can tell me how I might go about doing this? Here’s the rundown. I work for a company that produces hardware, and obviously, drivers to go with said hardware. Now, I have no problem test-signing the drivers, works like a charm and my cert is on both build and test machine, good to go. Here’s the problem. We build every night, as I assume many companies do, and we need a way to disable the warning popup that accompanies test-signed drivers (or unsigned).
Basically, we build and run regression on everything each night. One of the steps is to take the installer, run it on a test machine, which installs the software and drivers. Then, a test program is kicked on the test machine to make sure it’s all working.
This has always worked fine except for now when we try to get into Windows 7. Now, when it’s in the process of trying to install the drivers, there’s a popup. It’s odd because the drivers are test-signed, certs are in trusted publisher/trusted root on both build and test machines and drivers are signed on the test machine.
1: Seeing as the drivers are signed using a test-cert and test machine is booted into test mode, should I be getting the popup (as in, if I shouldn’t then I did something wrong which would be awesome).
2: If the popup is supposed to be there, even though drivers are signed and test mode is on, how do I go about getting rid of it?
Reading through some docs I notice that we’re supposed to use test certs until we have finalized a version of the driver and then use a real cert to release it. I am new to all this, so please go easy on me here (as in, if we’re supposed to buy a certain cert first or anything like that, then please just let me know, as I do not currently know and am going on what I can find).
PS: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Driver Signing does absolutely nothing (why is it even there?)
PSS: Please only serious answers. Answer asking why I might want to do this is not a valid answer. This is a completely closed in set of machines so security is not an issue here.

Перед загрузкой и установкой драйвера любого устройства Windows 7 проверяет цифровую подпись этого драйвера. И если при попытке установить драйвер для нового устройства в Windows 7 вы увидите сообщение: «Windows can’t verify the publisher of this driver software», значит, данный драйвер не имеет цифровой подписи. В указанном диалогом окне можно выбрать вариант ”Install this driver software anyway” («Все равно установить этот драйвер»), однако в любом случае этот драйвер не установится, и значит, устройство работать не будет.
При установке неподписанного драйвера, в диспетчере устройств данное устройство будет помечено восклицательным знаком и содержать следующее сообщение об ошибке:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

Воспользоваться Редактором локальной групповой политики смогут только пользователи, имеющие на своих компьютерах старшие версии операционной системы, начиная с Windows Pro и выше. Этого компонента системы нет в домашних версиях Windows. В этом случае, необходимо использовать другие способы, описанные в этой статье.
В Редакторе локальной групповой политики можно использовать другой способ: в окне «Цифровая подпись драйверов» выберите режим «Отключено», примените настройки, перезагрузите ПК.

Сразу отметим, что для домашней редакции Windows 7 предложенный вариант неактуален, так как «Редактор групповых политик» в ней отсутствует.
Как отключить проверку цифровой подписи в Windows 10
В операционной системе Windows 10 имеется функция для особых вариантов загрузки, с помощью которой можно изменить параметры загрузки. Среди прочих параметров, есть опция отключения обязательной проверки цифровой подписи драйверов.

О данной возможности мы упомянем лишь вскользь. Данное действие мало того, что немного незаконно, но и сопряжено с немалым риском, ведь мы практически принудительно установим в компьютер непроверенный драйвер.
Если вам не помогли все предыдущие методы, вы всегда можете самостоятельно подписать драйвер. Для этого вам понадобится сам драйвер и две вполне легальные программы разработчика SDK for Windows и Driver Kit, естественно, последних версий, либо пиратский софт, использование которого может быть опаснее для вашего компьютера, чем те же драйвера, которые вы пытаетесь «насильно» установить на компьютер.

В операционных системах Windows 8.1 и Windows 8 воспользуйтесь аналогичным методом, как в Windows 10, который практически ничем не отличается по своему применению.
Подписываем драйвер вручную
Если ничего не помогло, придётся самостоятельно осуществить подписывание драйвера. Для этого выполняем команду типа: «pnputil –a c:\*.inf», где «c:\*.inf» – путь до inf файла проблемного продукта.
Чтобы отыскать inf-файл, скорее всего придётся распаковать инсталлятор, если таков используется, при помощи архиватора, например, 7z.
Как в Windows 7 отключить проверку цифровой подписи
В операционной системе Windows 7 можно использовать опцию дополнительных параметров загрузки, аналогичную по использованию, применяемую в старших версиях Windows, командную строку, или изменить параметры реестра.

Для включения верификации цифровой подписи драйверов в Windows, удалите ранее созданный раздел «Driver Signing» из Редактора реестра.

Особый вариант загрузки
Подойдёт, если нужно временно поработать с неподписанным программным обеспечением. Когда хотите запустить какой-либо эмулятор или протестировать устройство, у драйвера которых нет цифровой подписи, лучше выбрать следующий способ. Он заключается в запуске Windows 7 в одном из специальных режимов.
